What leaves your office depends on the app: RPlay chat keeps everything on the Mac Studio; a cloud AI app receives the request and the passages it needs.

You do not need to learn MCP or write commands. In technical language, the app is the “client” and RPlay is the “server”. The same access limits apply whichever app you use.

MCP itself does not make an app local or private. The app and AI provider you choose determine where its requests and results go.

RPlay exposes one MCP server for the company. Apps such as Claude Desktop, ChatGPT and Gemini are examples to discuss; support and connection options must be checked for your chosen app. Structured forms use the separate MCP Apps capability.

Harder questions: Deep thinking.

Standard answers come from the AI on your Mac Studio. For a harder question you switch on Deep thinking: RPlay chat sends it to a heavier model through OpenRouter, such as GLM, with only the request and the passages it needs. You see which mode answered. A more powerful local AI server is the alternative that keeps even that in the office.
